EdgeOS: the operating layer for systems that decide without the network

Sensors multiply and the link is the first thing to go. EdgeOS does the work where the data is, and sends only what matters.

Illustration · EdgeOS tracks on the move, with nodes along the wayIllustration

VANTAA, Finland. EdgeOS runs on the node, turns raw sensor streams into tracks and events, and keeps working when the link is jammed or gone.

It is hardware-agnostic. It runs on our own nodes, HP-FN1 and HP-FN1 Micro, or on the edge compute a platform already carries, and it connects to the sensors already in place: cameras of every kind, drone video with its position data, radar and lidar.

What makes it different

  • It runs with the network switched off
  • Quiet by policy: the unit decides what may leave the node, when and over which link
  • Meaning, not video: tracks and events instead of streams
  • Nothing lost: results wait on the node and go when the link returns
  • Into the C2 and mission systems the unit already runs

Measured, not promised

79 ms from a detection on the node to Palantir Foundry, and 232 ms from camera glass to the operator's screen, both measured. Zero events lost across 77 days of field data. The detail is on the EdgeOS page.
